    GATE, or the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, is an all India entrance examination conducted for admission to postgraduate engineering programs such as Master of Engineering (ME), Master of Technology (MTech), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). It is an examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). This exam is conducted annually and is highly competitive.

    What is GATE Exam?

    GATE is an all India entrance examination for admission to postgraduate engineering programs. It is organized and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE. The exam tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science.

    Eligibility for GATE Exam

    To be eligible to take the GATE exam, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

    1. Candidates must have a valid Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science or equivalent.
    2. Candidates in their final year of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science or equivalent are also eligible to apply.
    3. Candidates with a valid Master’s degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent are also eligible to apply.

    1. GATE scores are accepted by various public sector companies, such as the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), and the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), for recruiting candidates for various posts.
    2. GATE scores are also accepted by various universities for admission to their postgraduate programs in engineering and science.
    3. GATE scores are also accepted by various research organizations such as the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), for admission to their research programs.
